Kahawa Conversations by Kenya Coffee Hub
About this event
KAHAWA CONVERSATIONS A Kenya Coffee Hub Event | 13 May 2026 | Shamba Café & Shop, Loresho, Nairobi Kenya produces some of the most celebrated coffee in the world. Yet for decades, the conversations that shape its trade have happened elsewhere — in boardrooms in Amsterdam, at conventions in New York, over cuppings in Tokyo. Kahawa Conversations changes that. On Wednesday, 13 May 2026, the Kenya Coffee Hub (KCH) — Africa's first permanent, origin-based coffee trade convention — invites international buyers, foreign chambers of commerce, diplomats, logistics partners, and industry leaders to Shamba Café & Shop, Loresho, Nairobi, for an afternoon unlike anything the Kenyan coffee space has seen before. This is not a festival. It is not an auction. It is a focused, high-value trade environment designed for real conversations, real cupping, and real deals — hosted at origin, owned by Kenya. Guests will move through eight Regional Market Stands representing Kenya's coffee-growing heartlands — from Central to Rift Valley, Nyanza to the Specialty Lots Hub — tasting, comparing, and engaging commercially with the producers and exporters behind each cup. In The Dark Room, unlabelled coffees strip away prestige bias and reveal unfiltered buyer intent. A structured conversation then names where trade works, where it breaks down, and what a permanent trade mechanism at origin could mean for Kenya's $297M coffee economy. Every interaction is intelligence. Every passport stamped is a data point. Every conversation started here carries forward into the full KCH Convention launching in 2027. Kahawa Conversations is Phase 1 of a three-phase roadmap to make Nairobi the global address for Kenyan coffee trade. Come taste what that future looks like.
