What Is Cardtag? The Event Networking Platform Explained
Cardtag is a networking platform for events, communities, and coworking spaces across Africa. Here's everything you need to know.

Cardtag is a networking platform built for Africa's tech ecosystem. It helps professionals connect at events, discover communities, and network at coworking spaces — without downloading an app.
If you've heard the name and want to understand what it does, this is the complete breakdown.
The Problem Cardtag Solves
Every professional who attends events has experienced this: you meet someone interesting, exchange numbers, have a great conversation, and then never follow up. The business card sits on your desk. The phone number gets buried in your contacts. The relationship dies before it starts.
This happens because there's no system connecting the moment you meet someone to the moment you follow up. Cardtag is that system.
How It Works
Cardtag has three main products:
Cardtag Arena — Live event networking. An event organizer creates an event on Cardtag and gets a unique code and QR code. Attendees scan the QR or enter the code to join. Once in, they can browse all attendees by name, role, and company. They send connection requests, share contact details, and start conversations — before, during, and after the event. After the event, each attendee gets AI-powered follow-up suggestions for every person they connected with.
Cardtag Community — A directory of African tech communities. Community builders list their community for free and get a public profile page. Professionals browse the directory to discover communities by focus area — fintech, AI, product, design, climate. Each listing includes contact information, social links, and a way to connect with the founder.
Cardtag Co-Space — Persistent networking for coworking spaces. A coworking space owner creates a space on Cardtag and shares the code with members (like a WiFi password). Members join and can see who else is in the space — names, roles, companies. They connect intentionally instead of sitting 3 metres apart for months without speaking.
Who Uses Cardtag
Event organizers use the Arena to give their attendees a better networking experience and get analytics they can share with sponsors.
Professionals use it to connect at events, browse attendees before they arrive, and follow up automatically afterward.
Community builders list their communities to get discovered by professionals across Africa.
Coworking space owners use Co-Space to turn their space from a room with desks into a real community.
What Makes It Different
No app download. Everything runs in the browser. Attendees scan a QR code or enter a code and they're in. No App Store, no 50MB download.
AI follow-ups. After every event, attendees get personalized follow-up suggestions. The message is drafted based on the connection's role, company, and the event context. Review, edit, send.
Event analytics. Organizers see real data: connections made, industries represented, top connectors, follow-up rates. This data is what convinces sponsors to renew.
Built for Africa. Designed for the realities of the African tech ecosystem — mobile-first, affordable (free to start), and integrated with how professionals here actually network.
